A lot of cameras around the track. Stationary like this, or cameras on boats and helicopters. Broadcasted on really big screens and in Italian television

Here in the final kilometer of the final. Batteling for a medal
When it was less then 100m to go I was in 4th place, 1.5 boat lengths behind (and blocked) 3rd place Simone Martini from Italy, I had absolutely no energy left. I dug deep and switched gears (and lanes) and pulled all with my might
Somehow I managed to cath up with Martini as I approached the finish line
Just as we were about to cross the finish line we took a glance at each other.
It took about 20 minutes before we found out who came in 3rd. It was just when I got back to the beach boat park.
I almost felt bad for Martini. 0,3 seconds from a medal sucks.
Well. He tried to block me so...

3 months ago my career was over due to heart problems I´ve suffered the last two years. 2 months ago I was on the operation table undergoing heart surgary 1 month ago I had to skip the National Championships due to cheast pain when I pushed myself in high race pace (still inflammation from the surgary) Yesterday I stepped onto the podium recieving a World Championship Bronze Medal. Despite being in third place, I felt like a winner
